Top 5 ‘Bubblegum’ K-Pop MV’s
Hello Sunday, today is the begining of April!
Cute K-Pop, better known as Bubblegum K-Pop, includes any song, music video or concept that is sweet to listen to and even sweeter to watch – and just like candy, they’re completely addictive!
So here’s my favourite Bubblegum K-pop music videos~!
Just Right (딱 좋아) by Got7
Bubblegum Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
When it comes to cute concepts, one of the first video that comes to mind is GOT7‘s iconic MV for their 2015 track Just Right!
The video follows a young girl who constantly finds faults in the way she looks, so the shrunken members of GOT7 take it upon themselves to reassure her that she shouldn’t worry about what other people think because everything about her is just right.
Not only is the message of the song sweet, the music video is beyond cute as well – featuring all the members interacting with various objects, such as toy cars, mini zebra’s and giant bowls of cereal!
MY STAR by Lee Hi
Bubblegum Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
Lee Hi‘s music video for her chart topping song My Star features her and fellow YG artist ONE going on cute, retro themed dates which include shopping, romantic car rides and going to the cinema!
Showing a variety of different settings and scenarios that match perfectly with the sound of the song, My Star is pleasant to listen to and even more enjoyable to watch.
Jelly by JEON SOYEON
Bubblegum Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Back in November last year, former Unpretty Rapstar and Produce 101 star Jeon Soyeon made her debut with her catchy song Jelly – a fun track with an especially sweet music video.
The MV shows Soyeon surrounding herself with all sorts of tasty treats, from ice-cream to gummy-bears, and also features other artists from CUBE Entertainment such as E-Dawn and Wooseok of PENTAGON, Lai Guan Lin from Wanna One and Jo Woo Chan from Show Me the Money 6!
Feel So Good by B.A.P
Bubblegum Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
Filled with summery vibes and a retro sound, B.A.P‘s Feel So Good music video combines vintage aesthetics with a cute ‘love crazy’ concept that works brilliantly with the group’s song.
All throughout the MV we’re greeted with charming shots of all the members doing ridiculous things, like dancing down the street and scooting around a store in a grocery cart, because of how a certain someone makes them feel!
「Candy Pop」 by TWICE
Bubblegum Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Lastly, even though this music video was for TWICE’s Japanese single, we just can’t leave out Candy Pop from our Bubblegum MV list!
Half real life and half animated, this music video is a non-stop cute overload – from the adorable anime adaptions of the members to their catchy dance moves! The video follows the members of TWICE as they try to escape their cartoon candy filled world to cheer up a sad little girl. And if the video wasn’t cute enough, the song itself is pretty too!
See ya!
